Updates on A events
Due to small size of A Singles and Doubles draw, the schedule has been changed.
A Singles - All matches played and completed on Saturday
A Doubles - All matches played and completed on Sunday

Starting Time of All matches will be posted on Thursday evening.

2. Directions and Parking ( Map of SPX-44A Gym )
Note: Downtown San Jose can be confusing. Come early to find parking space and the gym so that you do not get defaulted from your match.

The SPX-44A Gym is in the central section of Spartan Complex Building beside Yoshihiro Uchida Hall, and located near the crossing of 4th Street and E. San Carlos Street.

- The nearest parking facility is SJSU 7th Street - South Garage (You need to buy Day Permit, about $8/day, to avoid getting a parking violation/ticket )
- Discounted and Free parking is available through San Jose Downtown Parking

NOTE: Please be on time for your match. We have a very large number of players and draws. We will enforce the 5 MINUTE DEFAULT in order to run the tournament smoothly.

Sunnyvale BASS Saturday Badminton Training

For 2009, the BASS badminton training has been restructured in order for the Coach to be able to create a more solid program to create results in training our students. Please review the training schedule and pricing for 2009 for more details.

Winners of Yonex Bay Area Open Fall 2008 (Part 1)

It has been an intense 2 day battle for the Yonex Bay Area Open Fall 2008 champion titles. Many previous national, junior national, and club players from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and India attended the tournament. Audience were awed and pleased with the superb badminton play, and the champions were relieved to finally hold the Bay Area Open championship trophies.

Here is a partial list of the A/Open winners:

The list of players of Yonex Bay Area Open Fall 2008 has been published. Please check your name and event. This is a draft and not the final list. The list is tentative with some players may be removed if requirement is not met. Doubles partner that has not registered and paid yet may be dropped. We DO NOT accept anymore add in the tournament. Yonex Bay Area Open Fall 2008

(Number are limited to each event flight to ensure tournament runs on time)

Join in one of the most anticipated badminton tournament in the Bay Area. This year Bay Area Open is hosted at San Jose State University gymnasium. We will also limit the number of players that participate in each event flight to help increase the quality of the match and improve the flow of the tournament.

UPDATE 11/2/2008:

Registration has been closed. Due to a large number of participants, we will not be adding more players to the tournament to ensure that we have enough time to finish it. We apologize for the inconveniences.

Fall 2008 Sunnyvale Badminton Training

BASS Badminton training for the Fall 2008 will start on August 23rd. We have changed our hours for the training to help students to learn better. The Intermediate/Advance class has been adjusted from 2 hours to 3 hours to include 1 hour of physical training and cool-down. The Beginner class has been changed to have a lower teacher to student ratio of 1:4 and shorter class time from 2 hours to 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you have any questions, please contact your coach or registration.

Summer - The Best Season to Learn Badminton

Yes... Summer is the BEST season to learn badminton in the Bay Area because students can attend it daily and continuously under the guidance of  qualified badminton coaches and without thinking other subjects such as math, science, history, etc. This repetition of daily trainings and tutelage of a good coach will help students to improve their skill at a much faster rate.

Bay Area Open  organization has weekly Summer Camps that are taught by qualified coaches who has experiences in coaching and competing in the sport of badminton. One of our assistant coaches is a Junior National and CCS boys singles champion Terrence Pang who has taught in the organization for the past year.
